Sorting "Myself First" and Gradiant Dispells

1. Sorting with "You First" option - it would be lovely to have an option to not only sort for roles, but always put yourself on the first position. I would really appreciate this feature.

2. Since there are a ton of dispells this season, it would be lovely to get a gradiant indicator to display dispells with that. I am too much dependant on my full color overlays on important buffs and this would make it possible to display buff color + gradiant color for a certain dispell debuff

Sorry I don't know what is a gradiant dispell, can you elaborate ?
Player first sorting is not supported, It can only be enabled for parties (not raids) creating a special custom layout with a custom header, using the layout editor.

Where in the bottom there is a gradiant overlay in the color of the associated dispell.

Regarding the sorting:
I know that it is not supported at the moment, thats why i was hoping you could maybe add it as a feature.

I don't get this trend of obscuring the unit frames with more things. Yes it may looks cool, but from a usability point of view that design is not good. And we already have a lot of ways to highlight the dispells withouth blocking the health view, like changing the border color or using a glowing border indicator with 3 different pixel effects.

But Grid2 already supports texture indicators, so you can create a shape indicator and assign the blizzard overlay texture to it.
But first you have to update to version 3.3.10-beta (this version fixes some bugs in the shape indicator).

So after updating the addon, create a shape indicator, set size=0 (this means use the whole unit frame size) or enable the rectangle option and adjust width and height, select "custom texture", and use the blizzard overlay texture info below:

Texture path/identifier is: 7539067
And the tex coordinates are: Left: 0, Right:1, Top:0, Bottom:0.5
You can adjust the overlay texture a bit changing the bottom number (valid range values 0 - 1)

And finally link the dispellablebyme status to the shape indicator.

If you have some additional overlay bar texture published by the sharedmedia library, you can use a square indicator instead of a shape indicator (There is a rectangle option in the square indicator to change the width and height of the indicator, and another option to change the texture).

Regarding the sorting, when i say this is not supported i mean the game API used by Grid2 does not support this kind of arrangement. but you can create a special layout using the layout editor:

In the layout editor you have to click the "+" tab to create a custom header (and remove the "players" header created by default), the custom header settings must looking like this screenshot:

Then assign this new custom layout to party groups.
But this kind is layout is fixed, units cannot be sorted by role, class,etc, and the buttons always exist, so it cannot be centered if there are less than 5 players in party.

If your profile has no themes enabled, the layout editor will be in General>Layouts not in Themes section.

Its really possible to define another layout to enable by role order, but its even more tricky and convoluted.
You have to create a custom layout too with the layout editor, but this new layout must have two headers, a custom header to display only your toon, and a normal players header to display the other four players.
But this kind of layout can only be used in party, not even when solo (if you are solo your unit frame will be displayed twice):
The layout should look like this:

First tab to display only your toon:

Second tab to display other players( select 4 units per column, and hide player, and detach header options must be checked), you can select group by "role" too instead of none:

By default your unit frame and the other players frames will be displayed in a different row, something like this:

But as the second players header is detached, you can unlock the frames and move the second row up to looks like this:

I forgot to explain the obvious option (only for healers), in "General/Layouts/General"
Change the role order to "healer/tank/dps/none"

Thank you for all your tips and suggestions.
The healer/tank/dps/none is how I do it at the moment. I just hoped it would be possible to do me/tank/dps/healer/none since I kinda miss this feature since I swapped to Grid2 from VuhDo.
