Yellow Question Mark: Bug or Feature?

There have been several forum discussions about the yellow question mark/badge appearing next to extension icons on the edge://extensions page (see discussion 1 and discussion 2).
I’ve updated Microsoft Edge to version 143, but the issue still seems to persist for registry-installed extensions. Instead of showing the usual arrow-with-door icon, the yellow question mark remains.
Does this indicate a problem with the extension itself, or is this part of the bug still unresolved?
