I’d like to share a project I’ve been working on: NYT News Burst, a Microsoft Edge extension that brings New York Times headlines and stories directly into the browser sidebar.

What it does

• Pulls live data from the official New York Times API
• Displays top headlines and trending stories in a distraction‑free sidebar
• Refreshes automatically every 30 minutes for up‑to‑date coverage
• Supports customizable feeds, bookmarks, and dark mode

Why I built it

I wanted to make high‑quality journalism more accessible without breaking a user’s workflow. Instead of opening a new tab or app, readers can glance at the sidebar and stay informed while continuing their tasks.

What’s next

• Expanding support to more browsers beyond Edge
• Scaling API usage to handle a growing user base
• Adding personalization features while keeping privacy in mind
