Description

I am getting error when i refresh conversation kpi , Could you please advise on this ?

Steps to reproduce

Open Conversation Kpi dashaboard in Power Bi desktop and refresh or try to refresh the semantic model in Power BI after refresh .

Expected behavior

It should refresh successfully

Throwing error , Attched error .

Hi linujohn22 - the "dynamic data source" message is a symptom, not the cause.

Root cause

Your Power BI Desktop screenshot shows the real error:

OData: (400) Bad Request. Could not find a property named 'cat_channelid'
on type 'Microsoft.Dynamics.CRM.cat_copilotkpi'.

The Conversation KPIs.pbit you downloaded is newer than the Copilot Agent Kit solution installed in your environment. The cat_channelid column was added in the March 2026 release — your environment is on an older version, so all 4 queries fail with a 400. Publishing in that broken state is what surfaces the dynamic data source error in the service.

(Per the refresh docs, "Queries that reference Power Query parameters can also be refreshed" — so our Environment URL parameter isn't the blocker.)

Fix

1. Upgrade the solution to the latest release (CopilotAgentKit_20260708.6_managed.zip) → Releases. If it errors on cat_copilottestrunid, use Stage for upgrade first, then apply.
2. Re-open the .pbit from that same release — always keep template and solution versions matched.
3. Set Environment URL to the host only: org3c23948.crm.dynamics.com (no https://, no trailing slash). Use Home → Transform data → Edit parameters if not prompted.
4. Confirm all queries load with no blocked-query dialog, click Apply changes, then re-publish.
5. In the service: semantic model → Settings → Data source credentials → Edit credentials → OAuth2 / Organizational account → then set the refresh schedule.

If it still fails

Check that cat_copilotkpi has rows and that the Generate Conversation KPIs Scheduler / transcript copy flows are ON and succeeding. A common cause (see #251, #420) is InvalidPaginationPolicy — pagination set to 75,000 vs. the 5,000 non-premium limit; reduce it or license the flow owner.
