I have found a work around for this.

1. Select login from the extension, or directly visit the composed URL

https://mintlify.us.auth0.com/authorize?response_type=code&client_id=MOMiBZylQGPE0nHpbvzVHAT4TgU0DtcP&redirect_uri=https://mintlify.com/start/vscode&scope=openid profile email offline_access

This URL is composed from the elements found in vscode/src/helpers/auth.ts

2. Log in to your selected account through the Auth-0 link

3. You will be redirected to a 404 page

4. Look in the URL of this 404 page for the code parameter and copy it

5. Use this code to compose the following VSCode app URL in your browser

vscode://mintlify.document/auth?code={{ code from previous step }}

7. You will be asked if you want to open this URL in VSCode, Select allow

8. In VS code you will be asked if you want Mintlify Doc Writer to handle this link. Select allow

9. You should see a pop-up notification in the bottom right of the VSCode window stating that you are now logged in.

I see what you're saying now, happy to clarify - the doc writer was our co-founders first ever iteration of Mintlify. We've since pivoted away from that product into a docs company. In other words, we've discontinued the docs writer but we're happy to hear you're interested in it.

We actually have some exciting plans to build something like it in the future!
