Description of the Feature
With ICQ New having shut down for good, it would be nice if you could use Retro Aim Server to revive it.
Use Case
This feature would be nice because you could use the latest version of ICQ available, which doesn't have that retro feel, but at least it has a nicer UI and works natively on newer systems (even tough Windows XP is still supported!).
Potential Challenges
The problem is that if ICQ New doesn't use Oscar as its protocol for communication it would be a MAJOR hurdle to implement it.
Additional Information
That said, I know that ICQ support on Retro Aim Server is still in its early days (I myself have tried using newer clients like 5.0) but I hope that now that every classic AIM version is supported it could get more attention. I will try to look into ICQ New and see if I discover anything potentially interesting about it. Finally, I would like to note that I can be a tester for ICQ.
