CodeAnalyzer.js Documentation

Overview

CodeAnalyzer.js is a crucial component of the project that provides various code analysis and optimization functionalities. It works in conjunction with other modules like FileManager, CodeGenerator, and UserInterface to perform tasks such as linting, fixing errors, optimizing project structure, analyzing code quality, detecting missing dependencies, and generating unit tests.

The module utilizes the Anthropic AI API to assist with code analysis and generation tasks. It supports multiple programming languages and adapts its behavior based on the file extensions and language-specific configurations defined in the CONFIG object.

Functions

runLintChecks(filePath)

Runs linting checks on the specified file.

Parameters:

  • filePath (string): The path to the file to be linted.

Returns:

  • Promise: The linting output or an empty string if no linter is configured.

Usage Example:

const lintOutput = await CodeAnalyzer.runLintChecks("./src/main.js");

fixLintErrors(filePath, lintOutput, projectStructure)

Attempts to fix linting errors in the specified file using AI assistance.

Parameters:

  • filePath (string): The path to the file with lint errors.
  • lintOutput (string): The output from the linter.
  • projectStructure (object): The structure of the project.

Usage Example:

await CodeAnalyzer.fixLintErrors("./src/main.js", lintOutput, projectStructure);

optimizeProjectStructure(projectStructure)

Analyzes the project structure and provides optimization suggestions.

Parameters:

  • projectStructure (object): The current structure of the project.

Usage Example:

await CodeAnalyzer.optimizeProjectStructure(projectStructure);

analyzeCodeQuality(filePath)

Performs a detailed code quality analysis for the specified file.

Parameters:

  • filePath (string): The path to the file to be analyzed.

Usage Example:

await CodeAnalyzer.analyzeCodeQuality("./src/main.js");

detectMissingDependencies(projectStructure)

Detects missing dependencies and files in the project.

Parameters:

  • projectStructure (object): The structure of the project.

Usage Example:

await CodeAnalyzer.detectMissingDependencies(projectStructure);

getPackageFileContent(projectStructure)

Retrieves the content of the package file (e.g., package.json) from the project structure.

Parameters:

  • projectStructure (object): The structure of the project.

Returns:

  • Promise: The content of the package file or "No package file found".

analyzeDependencies(projectStructure)

Analyzes dependencies for all files in the project structure.

Parameters:

  • projectStructure (object): The structure of the project.

Returns:

  • Promise: An object containing file paths and their dependencies.

    extractDependencies(content, fileExtension)

    Extracts dependencies from file content based on the file extension.

    Parameters:

    • content (string): The content of the file.
    • fileExtension (string): The file extension.

    Returns:

    • Array: An array of extracted dependencies.

    createMissingFiles(missingFiles)

    Creates missing files detected during dependency analysis.

    Parameters:

    • missingFiles (Array): An array of missing file paths.

    addNewFile(filePath)

    Adds a new file to the project.

    Parameters:

    • filePath (string): The path of the new file to be created.

    createMissingFilesFromLint(lintOutput, projectStructure)

    Creates missing files detected during linting.

    Parameters:

    • lintOutput (string): The output from the linter.
    • projectStructure (object): The structure of the project.

    analyzePerformance(filePath)

    Analyzes the performance of the specified file.

    Parameters:

    • filePath (string): The path to the file to be analyzed.

    Usage Example:

    await CodeAnalyzer.analyzePerformance("./src/main.js");

    checkSecurityVulnerabilities(filePath)

    Checks for security vulnerabilities in the specified file.

    Parameters:

    • filePath (string): The path to the file to be checked.

    Usage Example:

    await CodeAnalyzer.checkSecurityVulnerabilities("./src/main.js");

    generateUnitTests(filePath, projectStructure)

    Generates unit tests for the specified file.

    Parameters:

    • filePath (string): The path to the file for which tests will be generated.
    • projectStructure (object): The structure of the project.

    Usage Example:

    await CodeAnalyzer.generateUnitTests("./src/main.js", projectStructure);

    Dependencies

    • chalk: For colorful console output.
    • child_process: For executing shell commands.
    • util: For promisifying functions.
    • @anthropic-ai/sdk: For AI-assisted code analysis and generation.
    • path: For file path operations.
    • inquirer: For interactive command-line user interfaces.
    • ora: For elegant terminal spinners.

    Configuration

    The module relies on the CONFIG object imported from ./config.js, which should contain language-specific configurations and other settings.

    Note

    This module is designed to work in conjunction with other components of the project, such as FileManager, CodeGenerator, and UserInterface. It plays a central role in code analysis, optimization, and maintenance tasks within the project.
