Hi, Very nice integration, looks more promising than the official one, so thank you for that! Is it possible, with your integration, to monitor the consumption of the EV only ? Long story short, to get the same data as the one you get when you go to "Consumption insights" per day on the Smappee app ? If it is doable, what would be the easiest way to do that? I think it can be useful for a lot of people because a lot of "company cars" ask for your consumption (kWh) per month (but of course if you know it per day you can just aggregate the data) to know how much they have to reimburse you. Thanks! |

Hi, Thanks for answering. What I did (and seems to be working), is that I created a utility meter based on "Connector 1 Energy import", that resets daily. Can you confirm that "Connector 1 Energy import" will always go up and never be reseted ? And that it corresponds to, and only to, what the EV consumes to recharge? This is the sensor provided by your integration: 
And this is the daily utility meter based on it (I checked on the Smappee and I indeed consumed 5.88 kWh today to charge the EV). 
Can you confirm that it's the way to go? Another thing that I tried and seemed to be working too (but was more convoluted) was to create an integral sensor that gathers what "Connector 1 Power" gives, and then I created a daily utility meter based on that. It gave approx. the same result (I had a difference of 0.01 kWh I think). What would be the "safest" way to do it according to you ? When I say safest, I mean the way to be as close as possible to the real values + be sure not to lose any production data. Thanks! |
This is my connector 1 energy import over a few weeks.
In principle, the integration reports the data from MQTT, which should be the energy data from each connector, the energy going to your car. I also included a small safeguard in the code to make sure this data only increases in time. However, one remark, since I am not a professional, I cannot guarantee that it works flawlessly ;-) I did my best, together with copilot, to optimize everything. The daily utility meter indeed resets every day. You may make a weekly, monthly, yearly, ... Moreover, if you feed this to the energy tab of home assistant, you also have access to such data. |

Thanks for the information, very useful! Indeed, maybe I should add that to the Energy tab, very good idea. I suppose the way to go would be to ass the value of the sensor as an "Individual device" to track? |

Somehow related, I noticed that the "Connector 1 Power sensor" sometimes displays between 1 and 2 W of consumption when not in use: 
I suppose that's what the API gives, but maybe this should be discarded (for instance when the consumption is > 5W, it's ignored ?). |
