I've had to downgrade from net8 to net6 to get this to work -- very disappointing.

Looks like there's a beta build published 5 months ago on nuget.org with dotnet 8.0 support in the release notes:

@neisbut is there anything you need help with to wrap up beta and get a proper release out?
