📘 What is model_node_id_idx?

What is this column? Why does it exist? How should it get updated?

It is a dupe of model_node_id that is used as the pandas .index. When a column is used as an index you can't filter by that name using the same API. Since we filter and merge based on model_node_id as well as other things, we maintain a dupe so that we can use the same API to the user.

ISSUE: this is uber clunky to maintain.

I believe the same issue exists for link ids?
