After modifying a single instance of a recurring event, cannot move calendar

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a recurring event
2. Edit a single occurrence, and 'update this occurrence'
3. This creates a standalone event, but cannot be moved to a different calendar
4. Use "Duplicate" to make a copy of the event, and the duplicate is fully independent

Expected behavior

Ideally the event created after "Update this occurrence" would be fully editable as a standalone event

Actual behavior

The event has some of the properties of a standalone event (like working Duplicate button, which isn't available on recurring events), but not all (in particular, changing calendar)

When you edit an event and click "update this occurrence" this technically does not create a stand alone event, it creates a event modification inside the original event. Both events are part of the same series, there for the modification, can not be moved.

Can you tell me your use case?

Thanks for that, I hadn't realised the modified event was still connected to the recurring ones.

In our case, we use shared calendars for a small number of meeting rooms. When a user needs to move a single meeting of a recurring series to a different location (calendar) it's cumbersome. If there's a better way to handle this we'd be happy to try it. I did try the Calendar Resource Management plugin, but it doesn't seem to provide any clear visibility of a room or resource's schedule.

Unfortunately there is no other option I can think of at the moment, the only way is to duplicate the event and move it, but this is cumbersome.

The best solution would be to add a option to separate the event from the series, a "update and create a standalone event", but at the moment we do not have that ability.
