Why does `results` extend `qualifiedInputValue`?

Wouldn't results make more sense as the base bblock? Or am I missing something?

this was a placeholder pending the profiling declaration model.. that said results and inputs are symmetrical - processes is a bit wierd not assuming they are and processes can be chained.
