I'm trying to self-host the full graphical OpenBB Workspace and connect it to an existing local Open Data Platform backend. The August 25 announcement commits to releasing Workspace, Copilot and the Excel add-in under a permissive license. The August 31 follow-up says the source code is available, but I haven't located the Workspace source repository or release image. The public OpenBB repository and release assets appear to provide ODP, CLI and ODP Desktop. The Workspace Lite installation guide still specifies a private registry and OpenBB-issued credentials. Could you point me to the official full Workspace source repository/container release and current self-hosting instructions? If it has not been published yet, is there an authorized way to obtain it during the transition, and what license/access terms apply? I'm specifically looking for the full Workspace frontend and application services. Thank you. |

The Workspace source is public at github.com/OpenBB-finance/workspace (Apache-2.0, archived, no releases). The Lite install guide still pulls from a credentialed registry, so build from source with lite/build-local.sh --local. The frontend builds with bun, but the Dockerfile copies a package-lock.json that the repo gitignores, so that step needs a fix. For your ODP backend, run openbb-api from ODP and add it in Workspace as a custom backend. |
