[Feature Request] Show window when left-clicking on the tray (linux)

---------- Show window when left-clicking on the tray.

It's quite pointless to left-click on the tray icon and see a menu, especially since it's the same menu as when you right-click. Not that there's a standard, but it's not a good habit.

The fastest and most convenient way to open the window is to left-click, and the menu to right-click.

Which platform are you on?
On windows it already works as you describe, on linux and mac I don't control what left click does.

I'm on Arch with XFCE (xorg)...

Yes, in XFCE, the left button behaves exactly like this. The left button opens the program directly, and the right button is the options menu. I just tested it, but there are two differences in the programs:

64gram (telegram client), ZapZap (qt6), and Ferdium display and minimize to the tray only by left-clicking, and the menu is on the right.

Discord and Stremio appear with the left button, but they don't return to the tray using the same left button, and the menu is on the right.

If possible, please provide the option to display and minimize with the left button. It's much better...

My code already tries to do what you are asking for (except for macos). If the os, tray icon lib and tauri platform code allow for left click event to be passed to the app, my app will show/hide itself.

I can look further into where exactly the event is lost on linux to know where the fix should be but it likely won't be in this project.

There are a bunch of issues about click events not being supported by libappindicator which is what tauri is using currently.

There is work done in this direction but it hasn't progressed in a while tauri-apps/tray-icon#201

Given how little time tauri dedicates to linux support at the moment I would not expect this to be fixed until tauri v3, which is rumored to be moved to GTK 4.

I don't think there is much I can do about this. If/when this feature is implemented in tauri or whatever icon lib it uses, the behavior will automatically work in TrguiNG.
