NMS_Tools has reached a solid milestone worth sharing.

✅ New Tool: check_ports

The check_ports tool is now fully implemented, documented, and integrated into the suite. This includes:

• Complete operator‑grade Python implementation
• Full Markdown documentation
• A dedicated man page (check_ports.1)
• Integration into the suite‑level nms_tools(7) man page

This marks the first tool in the suite to reach full documentation and packaging readiness.

📘 Full Man Page Coverage

All tools in the suite now have complete man pages:

• check_ports(1)
• check_weather(1)
• check_cert(1)
• check_html(1)
• check_interfaces(1)
• nms_tools(7) — suite overview

These are written in Markdown and converted to groff during packaging.This brings NMS_Tools in line with Linux‑native documentation standards.

📦 Packaging Work Started

Initial packaging infrastructure is now in place:

• DEB packaging (Debian/Ubuntu)
• RPM packaging (RHEL/Rocky/Alma/Fedora/openSUSE)
• Build scripts for both formats
• A unified build_all.sh pipeline
• A dedicated packaging/README.md

This lays the foundation for automated builds and future GitHub Actions workflows.
