In releases on and after June 20, 2026, we have add experimental GRID driver support for CMP 170HX, in version 582.66 and 596.75. For any ideas, please let us know!

In our special edition of the NVIDIA graphics drivers released on and after May 29, 2026, we have introduced experimental support for Easy Anti-Cheat under Signature Mode 1. We confirm that Apex Legends and VRChat can now properly utilize with CMP 40HX (and the same applies to other devices such as the P106 series).

Description

"NVIDIA Graphics Driver RainCandy Technology Special Edition" is dedicated to providing an easy installation experience for specific devices.

• Removes the restriction preventing most NVIDIA Cryptocurrency Mining GPUs from operating in WDDM mode (which is required for the graphics card to perform tasks such as game rendering).
• Removes the restriction preventing GeForce GPUs from switching to TCC mode.
• Adds support for certain devices not supported by official drivers (e.g., modified laptop-grade GPUs for desktop, NVIDIA DRIVE GPUs, and some Lenovo laptop GPUs).
• Automatically installs root certificate trust during the installation process, eliminating the need for additional registry imports.
• Incorporates a series of guided steps during installation to assist with troubleshooting.

For version for NVIDIA Pascal & Volta GPUs (like P106-100 / P104-100 / CMP 100-210), the 58x.xx version is the latest version you can use.
For version for NVIDIA Turing or newer GPUs (like CMP 30HX / 40HX), you can use the latest version from the link (version greater than 590.xx).
For version for NVIDIA Kepler GPUs, use version 475.14.
460.89 version provide better compatibility with Easy Anti-Cheat & Riot Vanguard and can only be used on CMP 30HX & 40HX.

Known Issues & Solutions

Compatibility issues with certain game anti-cheat systems
In order for the operating system to trust and load modified drivers, we have used leaked digital certificates circulating on the internet to sign them. Since game cheats also use similar methods to load themselves, game anti-cheat systems may not trust these modified drivers. This may manifest as the game refusing to utilize with headless GPUs, or the account being banned.

Modified drivers may stop working after installing April 2026 or newer Windows updates
We will be releasing more information on this issue shortly. You can avoid this problem by disabling Secure Boot in the UEFI BIOS settings or by disabling Windows Update function.

Device model name is not changed into GeForce models
Our modified driver will not change the device model name into GeForce models such as GTX 1060 or RTX 2070, because this is unnecessary.

NVIDIA's latest drivers no longer support old devices
Please note that starting from version 590.xx, NVIDIA no longer supports GPUs based on the Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta architectures. This means that these new driver releases will NOT support P10x-xxx & CMP 100-xxx series cryptocurrency mining GPUs, such as P106-100. While NVIDIA may continue to release security updates for these older graphics cards, we believe future drivers will not include performance improvements. Additionally, CMP xxHX series graphics cards (such as the 30HX and 40HX) are not affected.

Old modded drivers cannot be installed due to revoked signatures
For modded driver versions released by RainCandy Technology in 2024 and earlier, it is known that the certificate used for one of the signature modes has been revoked via Windows Update. The specific symptom is that the graphics card fails to function correctly, with Device Manager reporting: "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)". It is recommended that you update to the latest version or use the alternate signature mode during installation.

Hello. Apparently, modified drivers does not work with NVIDIA CMP 170HX, I assume I am the first one from this community to actually test it with CMP 170HX.
I hope I am wrong about it and just doing something incorrectly.
So I recently got two CMP 170HX for enthusiastic and mildly scientific purposes, I use Windows 10 22H2 Home Edition as my primary system, so ideally I wanted them to work on it. Tried with 582 and 596 versions of modified driver, the exact same results.
Both cards appear in the Device Manager primarily with no errors.
At the end of the installation the installer prompts us to check GPU-Z to see if everything shows up correctly, in case of both CMP 170HX it did not. Values, such as VRAM capacity, clocks, bus width, bandwidth etc are copied from the display GPU that works normally, and only OpenGL 4.6 box is checked.
Both cards DOES NOT show up inside of nvidia-smi.
Installer then specifies, that if GPU-Z output is incorrect, then it is either hardware or power delivery problem. To confirm/negate this statement I have installed HiveOS separately and booted into it. System automatically downloaded the driver (550.142) and I was able to see both cards inside of nvidia-smi clearly, with all the metrics like VRAM usage, power consumption, temperature.
I have verified that this problem is indeed not hardware nor power delivery, it only leaves the driver.

Similar behavior in case of NVIDIA-patcher by the way.

Note: People from China should know how to run CMP 170HX on Windows, because I saw someone selling information on how to do that, on Goofish for 30 RMB. Unfortunately, I am unable to contact them.

UPD: I also found information that 550.142 (a driver for Linux) was published alongside and at the exactly same time with 553.62 (a driver for Windows), so I will be trying to work around it.

First, by modifying .inf file for a driver and installing it manually with safe boot off and in test-mode on I figured out that A100 drivers does work with the CMP card. But something was preventing two different NVIDIA drivers from working together. In my case I was lucky to find that there is a driver that has support for both GA100 and GV100 (i.e. Titan V, the display card), "582.53-quadro-rtx-desktop-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql". Modified .inf for cards to have proper names and installed successfully. I hope this information will help somebody.

Very impressive! With this driver I was able to see both CMP 170HX in the Device Manager and nvidia-smi simultaneously. Although, second CMP did disappear shortly after, I experienced it with the original 582.53-quadro-rtx driver too, so it is unlikely the driver problem and is is something hardware related on my side instead. The information in GPU-Z is now correct as well (OpenCL, CUDA, PhysX and OpenGL 4.6 are checked). Congratulations! And thank you for your hard work.

Right now Vulkan support and FMA throttling are the priority (CMP 170HX features a heavily cut FP performance when FMA instructions are present). Anyways, A100 won’t work as a rendering device. There is no support for A100 with the latest vGPU package at all. A100 is a pure compute GPU and shouldn’t be used for Windows. You will only get TCC support.

As a cut-down version of the A100, the 170HX likely has the same limitations. The Code 43 error occurred because my previous driver attempted to make it work in WDDM mode. Thank you for your feedback!

CMP 170HX work with this drivers,but first installed card is only Nvidia.
Then if you hawe Nvidia card with graphics output you can install the driver,then this finished you can modding the registry,this card dont work on WDDM mode!

I'm having an issue where games using Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) refuse to launch at all. I have tried many troubleshooting methods, and I eventually concluded that the problem is most likely driver-related. After installing a specific driver, games like Rust started launching, but now I’ve run into another issue: a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) crash.
Right now, I am trying to find a stable driver that works properly with both my system and Easy Anti-Cheat, as the current one is clearly unstable.
My question is: am I the only one experiencing these issues with the CMP 30HX and EAC, or is this a known problem?

Я перепробовал много способов и в итоге пришёл к тому, что проблема, скорее всего, в драйверах. После установки одного из драйверов игры начали запускаться, например Rust, но теперь появилась другая проблема — вылет в BSOD (синий экран смерти).
Сейчас пытаюсь подобрать стабильные драйверы, которые нормально работают и с системой, и с Easy Anti-Cheat, потому что текущий вариант явно нестабильный.
У меня вопрос это у меня только проблемы с cmp 30hx и EAC или нет?

I wanted to know if Faceit Antiheat works with this driver. It seems to use Secure Boot, but I haven't checked other repositories. I'd really appreciate an answer!
