Template switch to the new Lite Template-> Content gone

Hi everybody,

I’m having an issue that I can reliably reproduce: when switching a template from Halfmoon to the new default Lite template, the page content gets deleted.
Header, main, and footer—everything is empty.

At first I thought I had done something wrong, but I can reproduce the behavior consistently.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Hi, when switching a template, there is a warning in the template selection dialog that tells you that switching to another template will remove incompatible fields. This is expected since the templates are not compatible.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I’ve seen the warning message, but since I’ve switched templates multiple times before, it wasn’t really on my radar anymore.

After some testing, I discovered a strange behavior.

I always perform the switch from Halfmoon to Standard Lite.

My page structure looks like this:

• Welcome

  • Site 1
  • Site 2
  • Site 3
  • Site 4
  • Site 5
  • and so on

The content stays intact when I change the template for Site 1, 2, 3 and in the global settings to Standard Lite.

However, if I first change the Welcome page to Standard Lite, and then change Site 4, 5, etc., the content gets deleted immediately.

Maybe this information helps someone else as well.

With the latest release from today, this behavior has changed and from now on, unused or incompatible content is kept and can be purged manually.
