model: one Core, authored once and vendored into every machine; OS-native
layers per platform; and Role layers for offense and defense.

The one test that saves everyone time

Before posting an "add this to Core" idea, run the "is it Core?" test:

If it changes when the OS changes, it's not Core — that's the OS-native repo.
If it changes when you as an operator change, it's not Core — that's a Role repo.
Everything left over is Core.

Posting tips

• Put the platform in the title for OS/role questions ([Arch], [Kali], …) — Core behaves identically everywhere, so specifics matter most below Core.
• Don't hand-edit a vendored core/ tree — it's overwritten on the next sync. Fixes go upstream in dotfiles-core, then fan out.
• Searching before asking genuinely helps here — a Core answer usually applies to all 13 repos.
