[FEDEX] Error fetching rates within EU

I cannot fetch Fedex rates via karrio when the state field is empty (which should be the case for Germany).
Fedex API responds with correct rates, but includes alerts of type "NOTE" at the top - which apperantly should be ignored, but makes karrio think the request failed and showing no rates:

Thanks for reporting this

Karrio does not treat FedEx NOTE alerts as failure/errors. These are handled as informational messages only and should not block rate extraction. Rates are parsed independently as long as valid rate data is present.

To help us look into this, could you please share :
(feel free to mask any confidential data)

1. The rate request payload you're sending
2. The full raw FedEx API response
3. The full karrio response you're receiving
4. Are you using the API directly or the dashboard?

That should help us pinpoint what’s happening.

Hey @MarcoWel,

As Ansh said, we have the same in Belgium. Do note this is just a note. And if you create a shipment from DE > BE, you'll see the same with Country changed. This is just informational and has no influence on the rate.

Can be ignored. I was in discussion last week with FedEx Customer Integration, do know that it's best to test on production as the sandbox env is not always as reliable.

Following findings:

• Correct Fedex account number(s) must be set in the Fedex Developer Portal Project both for the Test Key and separately for the Production Key. To be able to add an account number to a key, it must first be added to the Organization's Shipping Accounts within the Dev Portal.
• If the API Key/Secret is correct, but the account number is wrong/not assigned within the Dev Portal, karrio just shows a "fedex GENERIC.ERROR" on the frontend:

• The NOTE "errors" indeed show even if services are available, and they are repeated for every Fedex account number added to karrio - would recommend to hide or make those look differently from actual errors:

Now the actual issues:

• Fedex shipping rates are shown within EU (e.g. DE->NL), but not domestically (e.g. DE->DE), neither for the Test nor the Production Key.
• For heavy packages over 70kg within EU (e.g. DE->NL), Fedex online service offers "FedEx Regional Economy Freight", but karrio does not.

Investigating this we found that karrio is missing the relevant services from the ShippingService class (see Fedex API Reference Guide):

• EU Region International Service List:
  • FEDEX_REGIONAL_ECONOMY_FREIGHT
• EU Region Domestic Service List:
  • PRIORITY_OVERNIGHT
  • FEDEX_FIRST
  • FEDEX_PRIORITY_EXPRESS
  • FEDEX_PRIORITY
  • FEDEX_PRIORITY_EXPRESS_FREIGHT
  • FEDEX_PRIORITY_FREIGHT
  • FEDEX_ECONOMY_SELECT

Those are crucial for us, and we would be happy if you can add those in the next release.

Yes, it works for both test and production (except for domestic shipments for the mentioned reasons)!
