I’ve recently been contributing to graph_weather and wanted to express my interest in participating in GSoC 2026 with OCF.

My recent contributions include:

• Thermalizer integration (Issue #158 / PR #166) — implementing model updates based on “Thermalizer: Stable autoregressive neural emulation of spatiotemporal chaos.”
• NNJA-AI V1 integration (Issue #168 / PR #171) — expanding dataset support and updating the NNJADataset for the new multi-sensor archive.

I really enjoyed working on these and would love to continue contributing in a more structured and impactful way. Could you please share guidance on:

• Which repositories or upcoming projects need consistent contributors?
• Any priority areas such as model improvements, data pipelines, evaluation tooling, or documentation?

Hello @peterdudfield and OCF community, I am interested to work on a GSoC 26' project, i have also started contributing into OCF repositories, including -

quartz-api: PR 144 fixing issue 143 (docker module issue)
analysis-dashboard: raised issue(bug) 383 and made PR 384 to fix it (broken dashboard on windows machines)
ocf-data-sampler: opened PR 381 (fix type hints for coordinate system)

I also wanted to ask the maintainers if it is better to continue contributing across multiple repos or to commit to a specific repository!

I’m Sneh, a Bachler's student in Mathematics and Scientific Computing at IIIT GWALIOR. I have a strong background in Python and data science – I’ve built several machine learning models in PyTorch for environmental data and I’m comfortable with tools like Docker and AWS. Over the past year I’ve contributed to open-source .

I’m passionate about using technology to address climate change. I admire OCF’s mission of open collaboration and sustainable energy, and I’m eager to put my skills to work. In particular, I’m excited about projects like Open-Data-PVNet and the Quartz Solar Forecast (using satellite and weather data to predict solar power generation). I’ve already started exploring the PVNet code and would love to dive deeper, perhaps by improving data ingestion or model accuracy.
