YABBA (a 1.12) mod has a Antibarrel that's a barrel that only accepts non-stackable items, like sword, enchanted books etc.. and can hold up to 1024 items in one antibarrel.
I don't think there is any alternative in 1.16, a similar krate in krate mod would be very nice.
