We’re using Discussions as a place to connect with other members of our community. We hope that you:

• Ask questions you’re wondering about.
• Share ideas.
• Discuss things that cut across many issues or which are too broad or complicated for issue comments. This should help us declutter and focus individual issues.

Categories and labels

We can define our own discussion categories. Judging from the documentation -- including the fact that there can be at most 10 categories -- they are intended as types of discussion rather than as discussion topic headings. Probably.

Labels, which we already define and use for issues, can be used to indicate the topic(s) of a discussion. Issues and discussions share the same set of labels, which is good because the line between issue and discussion can be blurry, and more so because a discussion can be converted to an issue and vice versa.
