[Feature Request] Retrieve and save product image from OpenFoodFacts when creating a new product #985

Description

@smiley-2

Description

When creating a new product via the OpenFoodFacts barcode lookup in the Android app, only basic metadata (product name, etc.) is retrieved and saved. The product image available in the OpenFoodFacts database is not downloaded and assigned to the product.

Current Behavior

  • Scan a barcode → OpenFoodFacts returns product name and metadata ✅
  • Product image from OpenFoodFacts is not retrieved or saved ❌

Expected Behavior

When a product is found via OpenFoodFacts and the user confirms the creation, the product image should be automatically downloaded from OpenFoodFacts and assigned to the product in Grocy, the same way the web frontend already does it.

Why It Matters

Without the product image, finding and identifying products in the stock overview is harder and slower. The web frontend (via HA Ingress) already retrieves the image automatically — the Android app should offer the same experience for consistency.

Environment

Component Version
Grocy Android app latest
Grocy 4.6.0
Android Pixel 7a

Notes

This is not a bug but a feature request to bring the Android app to parity with the web frontend behavior regarding OpenFoodFacts image retrieval.
