On Arch Linux, with jre10-openjdk 10.0.2.u13, running typometer-1.0.1.jar (binary download) shows:

Nothing to worry about for now. It warns that there's a reflection being made (illegaly?) over background. I've tried getting rid of it, but the colors in the table view get a bit messed when you select more than 3 elements. Nothing that hinders the usability, but still.

For what it's worth, with OpenJDK JRE 21 it throws an exception, and the option --illegal-access=warn which is suggested in the OP output no longer works with JRE 21. Apparently it was removed in JRE 17, and so 16 is likely the last version which supports it.

So I don't think the last typometer release (v1.0.1) can work in current JRE.

If anyone has some alternative jar binary with that thing fixed, please share a link (my knowledge with java is near zero).
