If it be possible, I would like request a compliment shortcut to this one:

Today I can:
Alt + Direction of parent node = moves the currently selected node to be a sibling of its parent

We could have a reverse shortcut to return this node to this original position as a child of the upper sibling node.

Specifically, when a sibling node without a child node,

Alt + Direction of missing sibling node = moves the selected node to be child node of the upper sibling

Rather than add a shortcut for a very specific behavior like this, I have implemented a new feature in Minder that allows you to set/change the "attach to" node via the keyboard and then attach the selected node to that selected "attach to" node.

Here's how it works:

With any node selected (regardless if the node has children or not), use the Shift+Alt+Up/Down/Left/Right shortcut to move the "attach to" selector around the tree (just like moving the currently selected node around the tree). Once the attach to selector is around the node to move the selected node to, use the Shift+Alt+Return key to move the node to its new location.

So to perform the move that you are showing above, you would:

1. Select the "3" node.
2. Use Shift+Alt+Up to change the "attach to" node selector to the node above it.
3. Use Shift+Alt+Enter to move the selected node under the "2" node.

So it works a lot like dragging and dropping a node to a new location, but you can use the keyboard keys to navigate and perform the move.

This feature will be included in the 2.1.0 release.

I’m a long-time user of Freemind/Freeplane.
So, I’ve got used to creating mind maps using just the keyboard, which is quicker than using the mouse.
But now, Minder presents itself as a much more elegant and modern solution.
