I am describing a concrete problem or use case, not just a vague idea.

Problem or use case
At the moment when selecting a new folder/project, it list them by alphabetical order. I find it more useful to order them by last modified. Some users might prefer alphabetical, so toggle/dropdown in the settings might be the best UX to change this.
Proposed solution
Prompt: Add a configurable setting to order by last modified or by alphabetical order (current) in the folder selector.
Why this matters
Usually the most common pick is the last modified
Smallest useful scope
Toggle or dropdown selector to choose either "Alphabetical" or "Last modified" on the settings panel.
Alternatives considered
Enviroment variable?
Risks or tradeoffs
The current settings panel is very clean and simple, not sure if adding another toggle would be consider bloat.
Examples or references
Not needed.
I can summit a PR myself, but I believe the preferred way is to create an issue with a prompt.
enhancementRequested improvement or new capability.needs-triageIssue needs maintainer review and initial categorization.
