Is there a description of the format?

I was wondering if there is a specification of the format somewhere for this. I'm specifically curious about it regarding what kind of information density can be achieved through film like this.

I think it's "open source" for future proofing, but it's not an open source project.

I am not satisfied with the current amount of public information on the format or the surrounding technology.

We might be able to improve on this in the future, I'll leave this issue open as a reminder.
