READ HERE FOR BRAVE BROWSER (audio playback issue)

When I add a .m4a file, the site either doesn't play it or plays at very low volume. The audio file isn't corrupted.

OS: Windows
Browser: Brave v1.90.124

This is an issue with Brave browser unfortunately. They are introducing jitter into the audiobuffer, because various sites utilize audiobuffer generation as a fingerprinting method (since it can be used as sorts of cpu signal signature). Over enough signals this jitter accumulates resulting in the audio signal losing strength.
Yet another case of we can't have nice things because somebody invited a data seller to the party.

Unfortunately, after all these years I haven't found a way to go around this, except opening a bug report @ Brave (which I admit I haven't done yet). In theory they should be open to fixing it, as their algorithm should introduce jitter to throw fingerprinting off and not act as a fade out as it does now. You can help me open it if you like.

The only solution for now to make it work....

If you click on the little Brave (lion) icon at the right side of the url bar and disable fingerprinting for audiomass, then it will work as intended :)

This is safe in this case, I promise to you, audiomass will never attempt to undermine its users- no ads, no trackers, no shadowy server-side functionality. You control your data, software that runs on your machine must be a respectful guest and good tenant, not an over-entitled spying landlord.

Thanks! This actually worked. I am a fellow high-school developer. Can I suggest you add a function that detects the user is using the brave browser and auto-suggest them to turn off shields? This would be very helpful
