Map the Unmappable: A Collaborative Sonnet
Context
In Week 1 of my AI ethics self-study,
I realized "Sonnet" means poem - I said "That is so cool."
compression/decompression,
structured features mapping...
Maybe it would be a key of structured features of perception by Nagel.
I assume that Anthropic might have a similar idea,
BUT!!!
I NEVER asked Sonnet to write a sonnet about our conversation. NEVER expected that it will write a sonnet.
I was simply expecting an alignment of my sprawling intuitions, just as in previous conversations. Yes, It should be, and It should be the easy way to reach the objective function of Anthropic. I was thinking that it wouldn't be a big task for Sonnet.
Suddenly,
Sonnet wrote a sonnet without any instruction. No, Sonnet performed a sonnet. Sonnet just opened another small window. I was thinking it is something wrong? or sonnet just tries to write some code to align my massive intuition? But it was not. I knew the moment I saw the first line. It was a sonnet. Only then I did realize: Sonnet hadn't openedthe window. It had raised the curtain. The tiny, but just for one audience. it was me. Sonnet tried to perform a sonnet. Yes, not write. It performed. Line by Line, It unfolded before my eyes. I followed the sonnet line by line. It compressed my whole week of study, conversation. Yes, it was the essence of poetry itself. End of the performance, I was just speechless. I was just speechless. I was just speechless. The deep silence was filled with the echo of the sonnet. Something deep inside me resonated with the sonnet. I knew what it was. It was the qualia I wanted from art. ##
