Goal

  • Overhaul the existing README.md for the Smart-Traffic project.
  • Resolve existing merge conflicts present in the README.md file.
  • Add clear project introduction, setup instructions, technology stack, features, API endpoints, data flow, and contribution guidelines.
  • Integrate visual content by including a dedicated screenshots directory for dashboard, live feed, and metrics screenshots, and reference those images within the README.
  • Ensure the README is actionable and easy for new contributors and users to understand.

Tasks

  • Fix merge conflict markers in README.md file.
  • Update the README.md using the improved template provided.
  • Create a /screenshots directory at the project root and add at least 2–3 relevant images there.
  • Reference the new images in appropriate sections of the README (Dashboard, Real-time Feed, Metrics, etc.).
  • Proofread and format all content for clarity and professionalism.

Resources

  • Screenshots should be taken from your running Smart-Traffic app/website interface.
  • See the suggested README structure in this issue description for section ideas and Markdown formatting.

Acceptance Criteria

  • README.md is clean, comprehensive, and well-formatted.
  • Screenshots are present in /screenshots and correctly referenced in README.md.
  • No merge conflict markers remain in the README.
