Can't swipe in the side drawer on Chrome/Android

By comparison, if I load https://www.polymer-project.org/3.0/toolbox/, I can swipe from the left edge to the right, and the side drawer is displayed. In the material Preact template, that doesn't work; only swiping from the right to the left works to close the drawer.

Although that's a call from mdc-web but I strongly believe that it should happen.

@developit I believe u had a script to do this. Can you add it in this project?
