There is another fork of HsQML available here: https://github.com/travitch/hsqml
It has quite some changes to the library, let's see what can be an improvement and maybe incorporate those changes as well.
I didn't have time yet to look into it much, but the idea of using Template Haskell to register QML types is great, as it reduces the amount of boilerplate required to work with Qt in Haskell.
