how to change the language? ITK snap is suddenly German

After updating to 4.4.0, my ITK snap is now in German.

My Macbook pro with M1 running MacOS is set to English, however, I am located in Germany. It seems to use this location to change the language?

You can fix this by going to Settings, Language and Region, and customizing ITK-SNAP language under Applications.

I now did this setting (had to first set it to German to be able to add it), relaunched itksnap, but it remains German.

I am not sure what's going on here. I don't think the code is wrong, but for some reason Qt (QLocale) thinks that the locale for your system is German.

Could you please check if opening the terminal, the environment variable LANG or LC_ALL is set?

As a work around, please try running ITK-SNAP from command-line with:
/Applications/ITK-SNAP.app/Contents/MacOS/ITK-SNAP --lang en

Ok I suspect there is something else on your Mac causing this. ITK-SNAP is correctly reading the locale setting; the issue is that LANG should not be set of you don’t want German to be used. Get Outlook for iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef>

In my case, it was displayed in Spanish (on Windows),
so I had to change the language in the system, and everything automatically changed to English.
