the legend is back sone i can play FS25. last year i was playing fs13 whit mr mod the drive died so no more of that. Fs17 mr is also greath but nothing beats the bales of fs 13 mr.

me im just an old Swedish Fs player whit passion about farming. old fs uk member.

im just happy we get MR mode and realistic Farming for us to play. ty for doing this

I would just like to change the auto shift time and I don't know where exactly what to do... (There is a short time there now and I would like it to be longer...)

this is not related to MR imho, because time for shifting is directly in transmission definition:

I agree with @DrewCZ : autochange time should be set in vehicle xml files.
And I am a little bit surprised : from memory, base game can cheats the auto change time, which means, for example, that the starting MT655 can shift a dozen gears in less than 1 second.
This is not the case with MR engine (MR engine can skip one or 2 gears, but can't shift like hell through all gears)

No it's fine for me. It's a honor for me giving the feedback to author of MR, best mod of all time for FS. Maybe i'll wrote some issues in time. Now what i noticed and what i remember is too high torque when you want move a iddle tractor. Torques instantly peaking highest range and almost never be in mid range, so sound of tractor (ZETOR FORTERRA HSX, for this case) is still high and it's get there very quickly. Only in heavy load on steep road with trailer torques and sounds falling down. It's look like you need much more power to move tractor from place then he needed. Idk, becasue i don't like programing and scripting :)) I learned it in school just to graduate. xDxDxD

"ZETOR FORTERRA HSX" is not one of my conversion. If this is a base game tractor, it means you have a "locomotive" engine inside its hood => Indeed, more than 90% of the vehicles engines in the base game = the exact same torque curve scale down or up to match the max hp wanted. And the basic "Giants engine" featured in the game = something close to a locomotive engine (high starting torque and flat power curve)

Exactly. And this tractor is in a base game, but i was thinking MR is for all base game tractors. Okay if not. Which tractor i have to use then? I don't care for brands.

in the shop, all the vehicles/implements with the name that starts with "MR" = converted to be more realistic.
all other vehicles benefit from the mr engine, but for example, they don't have :

• realistic engine torque curve
• realistic center of masses
• realistic masses
• realistic fuel consumption
• all other things I change because I think they are "bad/incorrect" when I convert a vehicle to be suitable for "myself"

Feedback: I notice one, probably mistake of sounds on transmission of tractor. I think torques of transmission should fall down with speed of tractor. I notice that if you going faster and you start slowing down, sounds of transmission still in high range. And then fall down, only when tractor start to stop. Not exponentially with a speed. Idk if i am right, just what i heard in real life.

I should change transmission from Automatic to Manual then. And I actually play on keyboard (because I using Real Physics Steering) and I enjoy it. If is outhere Realistic Gas Pedal Mod on keyboard. That would be great ! I don't wanna setup my Thrustmaster T150 Wheel always :(

I think there is a traduction problem and we are not talking of the same thing from start.
If you were playing with "automatic" transmission mode => there is no way you could here the "transmission" sound. Indeed, when releasing the accelerator pedal, the transmission management understand you want to reduce speed = it will make the most of the engine braking power ability by shifting down gears to keep the engine rev high. This is true for a fixed gearbox transmission.

If you are talking of an CVT transmission, then, this is a different animal. But when going fast and then releasing the accelerator pedal, you also ask the vehicle to slow down => the transmission management would rev the engine to get braking power (like IRL).

In both cases, the engine sound is predominant over the transmission sound in game.

Thanks for the advice, man! Is there any way to make a realistic gas pedal on the keyboard (W)? It means slowly pressing the gas. In the game, it immediately goes to the floor, like in racing games... But it would be nice if the gas pedal response was smoother and slower.

And when you want to go quick and swift ?
You just can't replace an analog device (pedal, throttle) by a digital device (on/off like the keyboard).
There is no way to tell the game you are pressing slowly or quickly a keyboard key.
I am playing with a keyboard. The "response time" is already 'smoothed" in the game (but only for a very little time, of course)
If I want to drive slowly (when attaching an implement for example) = I don't just press the key, but I "tap" the key more or less quickly to achieve what I want. This is the only way to "simulate" a quick or slow pressing of the key as far as I know. Of course, it can demand some practice when you are not accustomed.
"KISS" principle = "Keep It Simple and Stupid".

In my opinion the best solution for Farming Simulator the game is the try to make manual switch between the game physics. In setting menu there will be three option: arcade style (family/kids friendly) normal style (with some realistic changes but still arcade) and third style is hard (realistic settings for all vehicles and ground physics).

I lost hope on FS for physics... the new update will be probably some real minor thing on physics. I just play FS because of MR, back to 25 and ~80hr on MR, having a blast!

And in my opinion = only what you call the "hard" mode is necessary. Arcade players can still enjoy the game by using "overpowered" tractors in front of heir tools. "Hasty" players can use the wider implements/harvesters to work on small fields. and the game should also provide "feature" to help the game not being punitive for arcade players (example : a function to put back your tractor on its wheels, without losing all your trailer content contrary to the reset feature of farming simulator)
Difference between "easy", "medium" or "hard" should only be with "money" => the easy mode meaning the money is not a problem. Realistic mode = the player can't use some features like the "reset" (or big money penalty to call a tow truck)
I don't see where this is a problem to get "IRL" driving behavior.
at the time of FS13/17, some players were saying : I am already driving farming equipment IRL, I don't want to spend hours harvesting a field at 3kph. But : there is nothing preventing them from using a bigger harvester or a smaller field. this is just "stupid" to say that for a game in my opinion. In such a case : why would harvesting at 6kph is "right" ? or "10kph" ? or "20kph" ? I can't see the point. If the player is bored to harvest a 1 hectare field @3kph, in which world would he not be bored harvesting a 2 hectares field @6kph ? this would take the same time ! And so, this is just a wrong problem.
the benchmark = IRL. We have to stick with IRL behavior, IRL gravity, IRL Kilowatt, IRL efficiency and so on.
Another way of seeing difficulty level =
easy : loose soil (less power to work the ground), flat map
hard = rough soil (more power to work ground), hilly map

anyway, if the game engine is "realistic", there is nothing to prevent giving the player an option to get, for example, 2 or 3 times IRL power for each vehicles ("baby mod")

anyway, in such a game, we need to "push" the player to buy new vehicle. This is one of the major things that make the player "play" the game = if I play a little more, I could afford this new shiny vehicle that would make my life easier. And then buy new field to get more money from harvest => want a bigger equipment since the fields are bigger => this is a loop. A loop that could never finished if the map is large enough and the "bigger" vehicles availables.

FS = everyone is cheating money (the game itself provides "cheating" with the "stupid" industries that have nothing to do with IRL farming life), and since they can afford anything, the only way not being bored = downloading more and more mods.
FS without mods = lot of players not playing the game
the fact is : more and more "players" are just lazy (both in game and IRL) compared to 30 years ago.

My way of playing would be :
start small (example : 50hp tractor, 2 hectares surface) and go bigger

FS25 = we start with a rotary 200+ HP combine harvester (6m wide) and "big" tractors (challenger MT = a big chassis in the 90s. something to compare with the biggest tractors of that time. John Deere 4955, case IH Magnum 7140 and so on)
On the contrary, the starting trailer is not suitable at all with the combine or the tractors.
Something feels so wrong with the starting vehicles...

IRL, I help during harvest on a farm that is something like 150ha. The combine = straw-walker, 5.5m wide => slower than the base FS25 combine !
The game is not really enjoyable right from the start. Where is the LS09/FS11 spirit ? FS11 was enjoyable from the start = making your way with old "pieces of junk". trying to make the most of your vehicles/implement to get money and buy bigger vehicles.
FS25 = you could buy all the fields on the map and keep the starting vehicles. This would seem "realistic".

ok, rant over. We got what we got and have to live with it.

I see the problem mainly in the people who work in development, they are not, I hate this word, but "farmers". Because in my country everyone basically calls themselves farmer and forgot how we used to call farmers in the past... English is, UNFORTUNATELY, everywhere. But anyway, it's the same concept as officers doing something for hard working people... Nonsense! No one who doesn't know agricultural mechanisms and real physics in the real world will ever create a believable imaginary/virtual world. But it's not something that is easy to understand! And it's naive to think that people from the agricultural sector and those "the best" with all these skills and imagination will create the perfect game for us hardcore gamers. HAHAH, no. Farming Simulator has something that no other game will never have, and that is massive machinery and equipment, never... And that's a pity, because we have to wait for Giants when they update their game to a real simulator. Not just a farming simulation and that's it... But a physics simulation of tractors and other machines, etc. And here's the problem, because a lot of people play farming simulator in different ways... So the solution is create more different play styles in the game settings, that's all. And I don't know what we would call these options, but arcade style should be the starting option, because most people probably play like that. And who wants to play differently and more challenging, they have to change the play style in the game settings. It's hard to talk about these things without the development team. They have to make changes or updates. And I'm interested in the announcement of the new trailer for Farming Sim. Where is it?

when we look at FS from start, we can see they were going (very slowy) toward "MR" (realistic physics)
from one version to another, they introduce "earth gravity" (something that was not present in FS11 !), power (same KW as in our world => something that was not present in FS13), draftforce, etc etc.

Problem 1 = they are quite "late". Even FS25 is not at the level of MR11 (there is still no rolling resistance in FS25 for example. And they use a "grid" to slow down harvesters or tractors depending on the implement size ! )

Problem 2 = it seems to me the game has taken the direction of a "farm industry game". (giving order to "workers", managing the financial aspect, building "wind turbines" and "solar panels" to get free money, and then industrial factories to get massive money and at the end getting an industrial empire = not driving any vehicle by yourself. Nothing to do with a "farming simulator")

Another point = they could make 3 games with the same "game engine" :

• farming simulator => goal = starting small, going bigger as a farmer
• wood cutting simulator => goal = starting small, going bigger as a wood cutting company
• "farming industry giants" => goal = making massive money like any "industry" game

And last : this is the same game with a few "enhancement" => why not doing the same as "euro truck simulator" ?
This is quite difficult to "mod" the "whole" game when there is a new version every 2 or 3 years.

Everyone has something on their mind or in their heart. As I know, in the past, two guys started building the game when you can drive a tractor, I don't know if it was Landwirchaft Simulator 2008 or 9, but now they are leading this company and if there is no guy who knows how to quickly build perfect physics into the game, we have to wait. Or it will never look like that, how we expect and want.

Hello, after time.. I have a question. Why does the transmission, when it shifts to a higher gear, kick the tractor forward? Why doesn't it smoothly accelerate from a lower speed to a higher? It's weird and it's look like tractor has 1500 HP and You are Drag race King :D

Hi, do you encounter this problem with every vehicle ? (Example of base game converted tractors = john deere 3650, challenger MT655, case ih farmall ?)

If the problem is "smaller" (less visible) with my converted tractors and more visible with "not converted" tractors, I would say it is something related to the engine torque curve (base game = more than 90% of the vehicles share the same engine torque curve, with just a scaling factor to set the wanted engine power)

Otherwise, the real problem = there is no clutch management in the inner game physics engine. Either the engine drive the transmission with full torque, either there is no torque at all.
And don't forget tractors are "somewhat" brutal compared to cars IRL (I mean, when changing gear on fixed gear transmission)

After your Mod i spotted, I am especially using MR tractors. But if there is no clutch management in game engine, so that problem we can't solve. Thanks for Explain.

I feel it's more realistic... and if using keyboard, basically your input is forcing power to 100%, on an old tractor with manual gear it's common... you could just tap accelerator key a little specially when changing gears.

I reduced a lot of it using Advanced Damage System (there's a setting to reduce thottle on keyboard) reducing throttle to around 80/70/60%. Also noticed that using ~60% max throttle it still kick around 80% engine power when changing gears on old tractor (using jd 3650), then it goes back to near 60%, on cvt I could just use 80% and the engine force stays there with minimal variation.
