command + option + n always seems to open a new atom instance rather than using the current instance

Using atom version 0.182.0 and plug in up to date.

I have had this issue for some time. When I hit CMD-OPT-n, type the filename, then hit Enter this plugin opens a new Atom instance with that new file in it.
