docking 'Failed to load entity for export'

I've set up a docking area and validated it, but when I park my ship inside and try to dock it I get an error Failed to load entity for export and nothing happens.

Was there ever a solution to this...just installed latest version and having same problem.

Docking is no longer supported. The feature is slated to be removed entirely. Reason being that I didn't write the thing and I don't have the time to try and understand it.
