Chinese input method activation problem

Macime's input method switching speed is indeed very fast, but when switching to a Chinese input method, a bug occurs where the input method cannot be activated. This problem also exists in im-select issue.

Someone has pointed out the problem and provided a solution ims-mac, so will Macime make an adaptation?

Thanks for reporting this issue.
I actually noticed there is(was) that problem while developing macime.
I wish I had known about that issue and ims-mac ealier.

I’m not very familiar with Go or Chinese input methods, so it may take me some time to fully understand both the issue and the proposed solution. I’ll take a look at the ims-mac implementation and try to investigate.

That said, PRs are very welcome — testing and fixing this in a real environment would likely be much faster☺️

  Add --cjk-refresh option

• macime.nvim v2.3.0
  Setopts.ime.cjk_refresh = true

will work with CJK input methods, I hope.

Not tested yet, so could you test it in your environment?

Performance is slower than normal —macime set xxx takes 100ms compared to 140ms with --cjk-refresh — but it's acceptable..

The gap narrows when running via macimed daemon or brew services, since macimed reuses existing window and text field.

Now I've noticed that the following input sources are also CJK:

• Google Japanese Input Method : com.google.inputmethod.Japanese.base (what I use)
• Japanese Input Method : com.apple.inputmethod.Kotoeri.RomajiTyping.Japanese

I tested them in my environment and found that IME switching occasionally fails.

This appears to be the same issue with reported in the im-select issue #79.
(I suspected it might be related to my Karabiner configuration.)

The CJK refreshing logic is updated in v4.0.0.

It's still not perfectly stable and sometimes fails. But it performs much better than without --cjk-refresh option.

Could you please try v4.0.0 on 4.x branch, and let me know your results?
v4.0.0 is now available in Homebrew.
