import ldap SyntaxError: invalid syntax

does not recognise the import ldap statement. I am using a virtual environment for running the tool with python-ldap successfully installed so it should work no? Been debugging this tool almost all day and still cannot get it running :(

I solved this issue by running: sudo apt install python3-ldap. It's a good idea to run sudo apt update first. I hope this helps!
