`.cmd_history` and `cmdassets` should be .gitignored by default

I would put them under a .chat.md/ or .vscode/.chat.md/ directory, and auto-update .gitignore to ignore them(?)

I then also created a chat.md that I now ignore, and it's where I chat about my project

I understand this might not be your intended design, simply sharing here as early user experience feedback.

Probably best to leave these configurable somewhere, on a per workspace project basis

You're right this is not an ideal way to do it.

cmdassets is important though. It contains attached images. Also tool results > 30 lines are saved in it and attached in the chat from there. I'm inclined to leave it as it is.

Btw do you know about the create new chat command Opt+Cmd+' (Mac) / Ctrl+k Ctrl+c' (Windows/Linux): Create new context chat or cancel existing streaming? This creates a new .chat.md file outside workspace, but still name scoped according to workspace name.

.cmd_history should not be generated in the user directory for sure. It should be either not generated or moved to application logs folder.
