Hello, I know traditional WiFi monitoring can go through walls but has weak anti-interference and low measurement precision. The project’s test demos show good data, but I still worry about these points and want to ask: will the project have the same problems for home use?

Good question. Here's a realistic assessment:

Wall penetration vs. accuracy tradeoff

WiFi CSI sensing does penetrate walls, but for best accuracy we recommend line-of-sight placement (same room as the monitored area). Through-wall sensing works for basic presence detection but degrades pose/vitals accuracy significantly due to signal attenuation.

Interference in home environments

Home WiFi environments are noisy (multiple APs, Bluetooth, microwave ovens). The firmware includes several mitigations:

• --filter-mac — locks CSI collection to your specific router's MAC address, ignoring all other APs
• Auto-channel detection — ensures the ESP32 is on the correct WiFi channel
• TDM scheduling — prevents collision between multiple ESP32 nodes

What works well at home today

4. Use --filter-mac YOUR_ROUTER_MAC to reduce interference
5. For vitals monitoring, keep the subject within 3m of a node

The demo data reflects real CSI captures, but accuracy depends on your specific environment (room size, furniture, wall materials, interference sources). A small room with one AP will perform much better than a large open space with many APs.
