Before being assigned any development work, all new Data Engineering volunteers must read and understand the team's documentation. This is your first task.

What to Do

Go to the data repo and read the following documents in order:

Note: the #2, #3, #4 documents are in data engineering folder

1. README.md — Team overview, meetings, communication, expectations
2. CONTRIBUTING.md — Repo structure, local setup, code standards, where to create files
3. TASK_TRACKER.md — Current tasks, completed work, and roadmap
4. KNOWLEDGE_TRANSFER.md — Architecture, technical details, cross-team dependencies

Acceptance Criteria

• Add a comment below this task,, acknowledging you have gone through all the 4 documents.
• Read README.md and understand team structure, meeting schedule, and expectations
• Read CONTRIBUTING.md and complete local repo setup (git clone, virtual environment, pip install)
• Read TASK_TRACKER.md and understand what the team is currently working on
• Read KNOWLEDGE_TRANSFER.md and understand the current architecture and data flow
• Explore the test app at test-saayam.netlify.app — create an account and submit a test help request
• Introduce yourself in the team WhatsApp group
• Attend the next Tuesday team meeting

Once all boxes are checked, let your product managers know and you'll be assigned your first real task.
