Since there is no response to the discussion I think it's safe to assume that we need to archive the repo for now. |

Current state
The Metals Eclipse plugin was not actively developed recently and no contributors have currently time to work on it. There might be some more work done in December thanks to @mundacho , but otherwise we will be lacking resources to commit to it fully.
The lack of active development has caused issues with new versions of Eclipse, where the plugin is not usable. Also, no new features are being added based on the Metals server development.
Future
This brings me to my current question. Are there any developers that require Eclipse Scala support and cannot use any other editors?
If there is no one that requires Eclipse or wants to work on the plugin actively, we might leave the it as best-effort with no promises of it actually working. Furthermore, if we don't manage to make it usable within the next months or if at some point after the next possible fixes it breaks again, we might deprecate the plugin altogether. This would mean the repo would stay, but all docs and mentions would be removed from the main Metals website.
Please do let us know if anyone is interested in the plugin!
