vertical sizing?

I can drag an app to change its vertical size, but this is really difficult if the app is at the bottom of the screen (i.e. I need to inch its size up a little bit at a time because I can't drag and hold)

(I was wrong about my other point -- I just hadn't properly understood how to save my layout)

Both good points that are on the to-do list. Regarding the first point, you have to press the "Save Layout" button after you're done with resizing (which is not clear to the user). To address the issue, I'm leaning towards an alert to the user if they switch/end-editing that will bring up a Save dialog to ensure their preferences are saved--versus issuing a Set_Preferences call on end resize event.

For the second point--still trying to figure out the best way to fix this.
