The log records are empty

I tried testing the bot on my own computer using the data_base_akadora.log provided in the project code (not the bot based on mjai). The output seems to be according to the specifications, but all my submissions have failed.

I encountered the same problem, but it only happened about half of the time. I used the same submission archive for multiple uploads, and it passed validation sometimes while failed for others.

I suspect that it was because the initialization of the bot program (including model loading) took too long. According to the author's code, there is a 10-second timeout for the response to the first start_game event (when bot initialization may be happening).

According to my measurement, my bot initialization took about 9 to 10 seconds, so it timed out about half of the time.

@smly Can you please increase the timeout for initialization a bit? Maybe 15 seconds are enough for my bot, but I am not sure about that of @ZhiyuuuHa.

Found a workaround for my case: the python wrapper of the bot can wait some time and reply to the start_game event directly without sending it to the real bot, so that the bot has some extra time to boot. It seems that 10 seconds are enough for my bot, because the real timeout is technically 20 seconds if both the extra timeout of start_game and start_kyoku are utilized.

@ZhiyuuuHa @zl0v7hzr Thanks for the feedback! I have not yet set aside time for private development today due to a business trip. Regarding that timeout, if the impact on batch processing time (i.e., cost) is small, there is no problem with increasing it. I will estimate it tomorrow.

From #176: It can also be that your submission ZIP archive is relatively large and has some compression. You can try disabling the compression when you create the archive and see whether you can pass the validation.
