I build PowerSync, a free and open-source Home Assistant integration that automatically optimises your home battery system to save money on electricity.

What PowerSync does

PowerSync connects to real-time electricity pricing from Amber, Octopus, AEMO, GloBird, and Flow Power, and uses a built-in linear programming optimizer to make smart decisions about when to charge, discharge, or hold your battery — all automatically, every 5 minutes.

It supports Tesla Powerwall, Sigenergy, Sungrow, FoxESS, and GoodWe battery systems, with features like:

  • Automatic TOU tariff sync — keeps your battery's tariff schedule up to date with live prices
  • AEMO price spike detection — exports stored energy during wholesale price spikes to maximise earnings
  • Solar curtailment management — for both DC battery and AC-coupled inverters
  • Mobile app — monitor and control your battery from your phone
