Hi, I'm Ehsan. I build Maiman Studio, an open-source simulator for optical
communication links and photonic systems.

Commercial tools like OptiSystem and VPIphotonics have the workflow and the
breadth. The open-source libraries have correct physics, one layer each, and no
shared way to wire them together. Maiman Studio is an attempt to have both:
split-step fibre propagation, coherent DSP to 256-QAM, WDM with real
crosstalk, and S-matrix photonic circuits, behind one data model and a
drag-and-wire interface.

It is at v0.3.0, on PyPI as maiman: 55 components, more than 1250 tests,
and every physics block validated against an analytic result in CI rather than
against its own past output.

It is built by one person, part-time. Sponsorship buys more of the week for it,
and nothing it ships will ever sit behind a paywall: it is Apache-2.0, for
everyone.
