Become a sponsor to Serge Rabyking
I spent 12 years at Apical (acquired by Arm) working on image signal processing IP that shipped in production cameras. Now I build new work in the open — imaging hardware tooling and the EDA infrastructure that every silicon project leans on:
- np2hw — a compiler from NumPy models to synthesisable, readable Verilog. The model is the specification; the generated RTL is held bit-exact against it by an example suite that proves every capability.
- bayerlink — a small open protocol carrying raw sensor data over ordinary HDMI links, with conformance vectors and $10-capture-stick test tools.
- rawast — one grammar-driven engine for the file formats every EDA tool re-implements: GDSII, LEF, DEF, Tcl, SystemVerilog — parsed and re-emitted from grammars that are data. The PoC reads 100% of a 3,132-file production corpus.
What sponsorship funds: named targets, each an issue you can subscribe to — np2hw capabilities, rawast milestones and format adoptions (adopt Liberty, SPEF, SDC, OASIS, SPICE or EDIF: the grammar lands as data, proven on a real corpus — yours can prove it privately), and bayerlink targets including adopt-a-sensor. "Done" is objective: a target ships when its example or corpus proves it, not before. Everything sponsored lands in the open tree immediately — sponsorship buys ordering and named credit, never exclusivity.
Organisations: invoiced sponsorship works here, and a commercial licence with support and indemnity is available alongside the open one — write to s.rabykin@gmail.com with what you're building.

Featured work
-
edacommons/rawast
Universal bidirectional grammar-driven engine for EDA file formats. One grammar drives parse + save for GDSII, LEF, DEF, Tcl.
C++ 9 -
edacommons/parameda
Param + EDA — a hierarchical configuration system for EDA tooling: config-folder tree with parent/child scoping, lazy variable substitution, and JSON-backed load/save.
C++ 2 -
lanserge/np2hw
NumPy → streaming ISP hardware (Verilog) compiler
Python 2 -
bayerlink/bayerlink
Raw sensor data over any HDMI/DVI link: a self-describing byte container, conformance vectors, and real Bayer into any board with HDMI-in
Python -
bayerlink/picam2hdmi
Reference bayerlink encoder: a Raspberry Pi turns any libcamera sensor into a raw video source over HDMI

$5 a month
SelectSupporter — your name in SPONSORS.md. Nothing else, honestly — it funds the work, not a product.
$25 a month
SelectBacker — your name in SPONSORS.md, and in the release notes of every release your sponsorship covers.
$100 a month
SelectSustainer — release-notes credit, plus a monthly written development update ahead of the public one, and your issues and feature requests read first. Read first is not the same as done first; the roadmap is still the roadmap.
$500 a month
SelectPartner — everything Sustainer gets, plus a monthly call, early access to branches before they merge, and input into roadmap ordering.
$2,000 a month
SelectOrganisation — your logo in the README, priority on bug reports that block you, a standing discount on consulting days, plus the Partner perks: the monthly call, early branch access, roadmap input. Sponsorship is not a commercial licence: indemnity and support SLAs need a contract — s.rabykin@gmail.com.
