UI adaptations for Umbrel

We need to think about on how to adapt the setup for the Umbrel environment.

Some things to consider:

• To my knowledge, Umbrel just have a few Bitcoin Core versions so it might not have the most recent bitcoin-core at it store.
• We will need to instruct the user on how to enable IPC in his bitcoin core node.
• We need to instruct the user that we just accept specific version of bitcoin core.
• the bitcoin core default paths are different from common OS like mac and linux.

According to this they plan to ship IPC with v31, can you elaborate what you mean here?

I think if Umbrel is detected we just tell the user when in Umbrel UI they can do thatm according to discussions here they plan to expose that in the UI, so shouldn't be hard, but we should show it only if Umbrel is detected.

I think we already do this in current UI, we say 30.2+ and there's also #130, did you have something else in mind?

Good point, can be a potential issue ideally, we detect Umbrel deployment and set up default for the user.

Given that our current setup requires access to Docker socket (as discussed in this issue), we need to make some adjustments about that as well.

By looking at some issues about this on the umbrel-apps repository, I found a place where they suggest to look at portainer structure in case the app needs access to the socket.

I haven't dived enough yet, but I guess we would need to do something similar to what they did here: https://github.com/getumbrel/umbrel-apps/blob/master/portainer/docker-compose.yml

A small update on this: I just asked clarifications on the Umbrel's Discord server, and they told me to follow the portainer example mentioned above.

are we planning to do this before publishing to the Umbrel Store? (I think the answer is yes and I would agree exploring the dind, but I need confirmation)

I’d create a separate issue for this, since it seems like a significant problem on its own. I also have a bit of a blind spot regarding this dind setup.

I don’t yet have enough information to know whether this will satisfy all of our needs, especially since we’re currently quite tightly coupled to dockerode.

We cannot mount the Docker socket directly in the Umbrel case, so we need to explore the dind setup for sure. I still don't know if that should be the universal way to run sv2-ui or if that should only be the case for the Umbrel deployment though.
