Bug Report: Embedded Google Docs Drawings Do Not Render in SuperDoc

What happened?

When I upload a .docx file created in Google Docs that contains an image inserted using the Google Docs Drawing tool, the image is not rendered in SuperDoc.

However, if I export the same docx from SuperDoc and import it back into Google Docs, image renders correctly. This suggests that the image data and metadata are preserved during the export process, but SuperDoc is unable to render the original Google Docs drawing.

Expected behavior

Images created using the Google Docs Drawing tool should be rendered correctly in SuperDoc.

Actual behavior

The drawing image is missing and is not displayed in the document.

Steps to reproduce

1. Use this doc as example, upload it to SuperDoc: Example OpenBridge JIP proposal_2025.docx

2. Import same doc to Google Docs

3. Check difference, SuperDoc not render image

Hi @git-antonyuk Thanks for reporting this! We reproduced the issue and confirmed the root cause.
This happens when a Google Docs Drawing is exported to DOCX with grouped drawing objects. Google writes that as a wpg DrawingML group plus a fallback image. SuperDoc is currently choosing the grouped DrawingML branch, but for nested wpg:grpSp groups it can import an empty shape group instead of rendering the fallback image.

One note: simple ungrouped Google Docs drawings already render correctly in SuperDoc, so the repro depends on grouped objects inside the Google Docs Drawing editor.

We have documented the repro steps on our side and will make sure to update you once this is picked up by our engineering team!
