Presumably to copy it to paste somewhere else? Shorter to just copy 12345 and paste it somewhere rather than https://redump.info/disc/12345 - I don't need it often but I could see the use.

Same purpose as people have for it in the URL, e.g. copying it, seeing what page they are on. Very minor issue but its odd (compared to other databases) and slightly inconvenient to not have item ID displayed on the page.

ID isn't a useful metadata about the disc its a side effect of the database, not something that is useful except for linking

Yeah it is just for linking/referencing a redump page. This doesn't need to be done, it just might be nice to have (depending on how you want the page design to be).
